Grilled sweet potato fries

I used to hate sweet potatos till one day i had some good ole sweet potato fries. Since then i have enjoyed them alot more. Still not a fan of them but they do go good with just bout any kind of meat. A good friend of mine was polite enough to share his wealth and knowledge with me about sweet potato grill fries. He currently manages the website NoExcusesBbq

  • 2 sweet potatoes
  • 1 tbs. Olive oil
  • Fresh ground pepper
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Peel the sweet potatoes and cut into 1/2 inch strips (like french fries).  Drop into a bowl or plastic bag and cover with the olive oil, making sure that the sweet potatoes are evenly coated.  Sprinkle with fresh ground pepper, other spices and the salt.  Place in a grill basket and cook indirect (not over coals) on a 350°F-375°F grill for about 30 minutes.  Sprinkle with lime juice. These don’t crisp up, and you will want to take them off the grill when they are still a bit firm.  Serve hot, no toppings required…
